Safeguarding

Safeguarding is our highest priority. Every child has a right to protection from harm. Brightleaf has robust safeguarding policies and procedures in place to help them keep our students safe.

Setting up and following good safeguarding policies and procedures means children are safe from adults and other children who might pose a risk.

At Brightleaf Education Group, every child’s safety and wellbeing underpin all aspects of school life. We maintain rigorous safeguarding procedures, clear reporting systems and a culture of vigilance and accountability.

All staff colleagues receive comprehensive training in safeguarding, trauma-informed practice and child protection responsibilities. We work proactively with families, local authorities and external agencies to ensure children are protected and supported.

Online safety

The online world creates many opportunities for children and young people, providing a place where they can communicate, learn and play. But there are also risks. So it's important that everyone working with us has the confidence and skills to help keep our students safe online.

Safer recruitment

We follow steps to ensure the people who work or volunteer with our us are safe to work with children. Safer recruitment is a set of practices to help make sure our staff colleagues are suitable to work with children and young people. It's a vital part of creating a safe and positive environment and making a commitment to keep our students safe from harm.

We believe safeguarding is not only about compliance, but about compassion. Creating emotionally secure environments allows pupils to feel safe enough to learn, grow and trust.

Every decision we make is guided by the best interests of the young person.
